strut tower bar

A strut bar that doesnt physically locate firmly to the strut towes is useless and for cosmetic purposes only, unless that is what your looking for.

the bar has got to attach to the vehicle body otherwise whats the point.there designed to stop flex/stiffen it up,they cant do that if there not attached to the body can they.

The bar in the pic I posted is hardly cosmetic. By bolting over the struts and under the strut mounting plate, the bar physically links the two struts to make one complete unit; much stronger than a bar that just bolts to the tower using 2 or 3 little screws. In fact, the pic of the bar I posted is what is used in the Clio CUP competition cars....

Im in contact with OMP (they make the bar in the pic) to see if they make a modified version thats installs the same way without any drilling, cutting or bending.

if anyone knows of any other bars like this, please let me know. (Sparco doesnt have one...)

they use different suspension in that pic compared to the road spec suspension so thats probably why they can mount it in that way.

Yup, using a strut like that would totally remove any of the std flex built into the rubber top mounts.

The cup cars use a different subframe, aapted laguna hubs and struts and brakes, so its is very different.
