I felt like buying some cheap ICE last week, so I purchased a FLI Trap 12 off Ebay, with a wiring kit etc, got it all for £48, not bad!

Fitted it today, got everything done fine, until i got to testing it out...NOTHING.

The unit doesn't seem to have any power going into it at all.
Now the power cable I have is 12V, with a one of those Audiolead gold plated fuses on it.

I've swapped fuses around in the little clear fuse holder, but didnt have time to try anything else. Maybe the fuse in the FLI unit?

Anyone got any clues to what it could be? Unless i've been ripped off!
(The guy have 99.9% rating though on over 1000 items).

Cheers, Phil.

Yeah, I wanted something a bit better, but being in uni, I just grabbed something as cheap as possible!

Ive got the ground hooked up to the little bolt behind the back seats.
I was going to use the larger bolt on the rail behind the seats, but couldn't get it off after WD40 galore!

Need better ground maybe?

It would be my first point of call, when i had a sub in my 1.2 clio I used the larger bolt which was fine.

When you've tried that check it lights up, also presume you've got the remote wired up.

I will try and have another go at the bigger bolt tomorrow, and yep, all wired
up correctly as far as I know!

Cheers for the help so far.

Try the earth as has been said, I sanded a bit of the wheel well and then drilled the earth into that when I fitted the system. If the earth is good check the amp lights up. If it does check the wiring from the HU to the amp, if its through RCA's then you should have the RCA lead plugged in from HU to amp and a seperate wire from the ISO to the amp for the remote on. If the remote on isn't wired up properly the amp wont turn on. Was the wiring kit new?

There's an earth by the base of the passenger door. Take off the plastic sill cover, and you should see it.

Kneel - I will have a look over everything you've mentioned, I reckon it might be the earth to be honest. The wiring kit isnt new, but I had a look over it, changed the fuse etc, and it should all be ok.

Brown Bear - Cheers, I shall have a look for that shortly.
