sub and amp problems

hi, i have just installed an amp and a sub into my clio. the only problem is even though i have put a switch onto the power cable it still drains my battery which causes my car not to start. any advice? cheers

Take the remote wire off the remote at the back of the headunit instead of the permanent live?

Done both of then lol the battery charges up fine without the amp conected at all but then when i connect it back up it will just die on me again lol

Hmmmm. Have you tested your aternator?

Uprated the charge wire?

so you unplug the remote wire, and does the amp stay on??
lights and that??

if so youve made a wiring faux pas.

or you could just get a new battery!
(providing it charges at 14.4v when the car is running)

Sounds like it's wired incorectly or it's shorting out somewhere.

When you earthed it did you make sure it was to bare metal?

Mines on one of the bolts on the back seats

You need to sand it down and clean it thoroughly
