Sub wiring query

Hi,
I am planning to fit a subwoofer in to my clio and wire it to an OEM stereo, main reason being I want to keep my steering controls. Is this possible? I was thinking is it possible to cut the phono lead ends off that go to the head unit and connect them to speaker wiring cable taken from the speakers in the back as I doubt there are pre-outs on the manufactures stereo. Any ideas or do I just need a new head unit?

no its not, but you can get a adapter to fit to a kenwood/jve ect hu so you can still use your stalk controls, hu wont be powerfull enough to run a sub.
