Sump Gasket Change

Hello, I've just had my MOT done and he noticed a leak which looked to be coming from the sump gasket. Is changing it a job any local garage (I usually use the same one) can do or is it better to take it to a specialist? How much approximately should I be looking at paying (I can supply the part).

2 hours tops plus oil and filter

If it takes any longer they are probably thinking they need to drop the frame which they don't.

Easiest is lifting the engine slightly by removing the main engine mount bolts.

So how much extra time would it take to change the oil pump?
Is it just a case of lifting the engine as far as the loose mounts allow and swapping the pump over?

with the sump already off it'll take about 30seconds to swap the oil pump

get ready to round some of the bolt heads off as well, I had to use a chisel to get some off, and only renault sell them as they are a stupid M5 thread.

If u round off the ones that sit on the right hand side of the engine then maybe gearbox will have to come off to get behind the fly wheel. but not to worry you : )

U proberbly can. But i was lucky as my engine was already out and gearbox off

They are M7 thread not M5. You can get Allen head or hex head replacements if you need to.

Sorry m7. My bad. i really found it hard to get replacements at a sensible price. In the end dealer charger me 1.60 something . Only needed 4 anyway
