Sump plug washer

Ok so my car is leaking a little engine oil from the sump plug and I went to GSF to get the sump washer to do the oil change etc.

The guy in there didn't seem too clued in, I told him the car model etc and even pointed to it sitting in front of the shop.

He gave me three sump washers and said "it should be one of those" lol....now I have only had the car about 5 weeks so have not done an oil change or anything yet and don't know which washer it is. Could some kind person please tell me which washer of these three he gave me it is....if any

the washer Renault supply is a dowty seal (the one on the right), but you could use either of the copper ones on the left, providing the internal diameter goes over the sump bolt. the internal dia of that dowty seal may not be big enough

Hmmm...lol...maybe I will just call into Renault and get one then, the guy in GSF didn't even charge me.

oink, chances are one of those will fit - use whichever's the best fit over the bolt

Just don't wanna do the oil change and have it slowly start to leak again if none of these are correct you know lol...

go to halfords, theres 1 copper 1 there, it says, renault/citroen/peugeot. £1.30 iirc. cnt go wrong

When I changed mine it was a copper ring, the one on the bottom left on the photo is probably the best match for the one i used. Never leaked so it did the job, cost me 30p from the car shop on the corner

Oh bloody hell, way to confuse things lol, I went to renault today and got the one that henry suggested, I didn't tell renault the part number but on the printout sheet they gave me as my receipt it has the same number henry quoted so I am gonna go with what renault gave me. Thanks for the help

Just tighten the sump plug up more = sorted.

Or over-tighten = new sump time. Just change the oil and use a new washer = sorted!

A filter and sump plug washer comes to about £7 from renault, not really worth bothering with pattern ones imo.

Feckin washer and filter cost me £12 today at renault! Not £7 lol
