Oh no! Hope it's ok :(

Cheers dear! Fingers crossed!

Yeah, what's up?

I might need to start my own thread. lol

Aux belt shreaded.

Ouch! :dapprove: Any other damage?

He probably was feeling a bit guilty for leaving his brick in the middle of the road. :clown:

On a more serious note it shouldnt be too hard to fix, need a new 2nd hand sump, a new gasket and some oil.

...Also you should be careful accepting drink of an old man, could have drugged it. Not sore anywhere are you;)

Oh yeah, didn't think of that! Now you mention it.......;)

I'm assuming this is why i saw you in Renault today then steve??

That does not look good. :(

Thought you looked pissed off. Thats why i avoided any conversation, thought you'd just had a row with the service department! lol

Lol. Yeah it was Dan. No, it's all good with the lads on the service department! Just pissed off with the situation as you can appreciate bud. Was gonna stop and chat, but I had to chip off. Have you still got the Williams that you purchased the other month, or is that gone now? Not in the market to buy it, I wish I was, but wanted to have a gander sometime if you were gonna hang on to it?

That won't be cheap if you can't do it yourself, the subframe has to be dropped to change the sump.

hour job, 2 hours tops... You dont need to drop the subframe just undo the front engine mount and jack the engine up slightly...

no it doesn't, removed one just this afternoon by raising the lump until the sump cleared the oilpump and pickup, didn't have to go up any more than when gaining access to the cambelt :) Not too bad a job but it's messy

I know how you feel. My Polo had its splitter shattered, and sump attacked by a cuts of concrete rock/debris. After that incident I had a sump guard fabricated :approve: , around a ton though, expensive but it will never have the chance to happen again. I cant find the reciept or remember a name...If I do find out Ill give you PM.

Nasty, I hope it gets back on the road with not too much expense / hassle.

Good on the guy with the mug of tea, my accelerator cable snapped once in the middle of nowhere and I forgot to charge my mobile so I walked to a house and was charged £1 to use the phone, that was 10 years ago when £1 would have bought a cone of chips, curry sauce and a can of coke, the robbing b*****ds! :)

it a bit tricky to jack the engine you leave the jack there and take the sump out?

not if you jack on the gearbox?!
Hairy muff, learn something everyday. Not sure i'd fancy jacking the gearbox though, jack up and put a wedge in the mount sounds the best way.
