I went through the lanes to avoid some roadworks this morning and now I wish I hadn't! I hit what only looked like a brick in th road, but only saw it at the last second, so i couldn't avoid it. I'm off to rob a bank to pay for it now! I had an impromptue (sp) day off, but believe me I'd rather be in work! :dapprove:

ouch did you switch engine off as soon as it happened?

Yeah was still running smooth I think when I turned the engine off. When I was waiting for the RAC, a bloke in a house just down the lane brought me a mug of tea! A gentleman and a scholar!

That won't be cheap if you can't do it yourself, the subframe has to be dropped to change the sump.

He probably was feeling a bit guilty for leaving his brick in the middle of the road. :clown:

On a more serious note it shouldnt be too hard to fix, need a new 2nd hand sump, a new gasket and some oil.

unlucky fella, my mate did the exact same thing is his corsa, hit a block of concrete that ended up on a corner of a road he hit it an put a tennis ball size hole in the sump an smashed the cat clean off..

Gutted for you Steve, even worse when something like this happens which you have no control over.

Yeah isn't it just! I wish I'd driven through the roadworks where they are doing major re-surfacing! Good job we don't pay much road tax isn't it?!

Same happened to me and my Cup.... Was following a tractor and what looked like mud that fell of was actually a rock covered in mud. Wack!

You doing the work yourself?

I remember the subframe had to be droped a few cm in order to get the old sump of and the new one on.

A much easier job than you think tho!

I lol'd at that. In all seriousness it sucks when you see the blood of a car spill like that.
Also you should be careful accepting drink of an old man, could have drugged it. Not sore anywhere are you;)
