F.F.S!

As soon as I hear the word Ford my balls tingle.

Some serious metal there.

  Titanium 182
I can almost hear the Pinto and Crossflow engines as they're thrashed through the countryside!

God I want a Mexico!

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,
Awesome... I remember some of my friends having these cars back in the day. Great fun, great cars, great memories.

Offft!

Ive never decided if I prefer the RS2000 nose cone to the normal one or not.

Me and my oldest Brother were talking about that months ago after I showed him some old Escorts, he had a few MK1/MK2/MK3 Fiestas. Still can't decide.

I really like mk1 and mk2 escorts, sadly they are big money now for something to throw around a track though :(

LOL. I get the Mk1, but this? Really?

It wasn't even good when it was new! Is it just the rarity? What?

You realise its a rs1600i not an xr3i I take it?

Some quite trick suspension bits, wasted spark ignition etc, was quite a good car IMHO

Rs1600i are great, mate used to have one, everything was spot on, drive, driving position, seats were super supportive and comfy, would have one in a heartbeat.

Rather a MK1 though.

Did your mate have blonde hair and massive norks and come from milton keyens? If so I remember the car and owner very well, although sadly only got to test drive her cars not her norks, lol

One of my friends has a thing for mk3 escorts, he has S1 1900cc, RS1600i, XR3, Van with st170 stuff, and a getrag RWD with YB, sadly they are all almost done project cars, one day he might finish one of them

Would love an RS1600i.

Gally, the more I think about it the more I don't know, both fronts look fapping awesome!

Do you mean gartrac RWD YB conversion mate?

Friend of mine had a couple of them back when they were first converted, pretty cool cars :)

Yes, although his didn't come with a YB it had an essex v6 init, i believe his had to make the tunnel bigger to get the yb box in, i think its bassicaly an old capri in a mk3 escort, i havnt really spoke to him about it tbh as when you start talking to him about his cars you get stuck with him for a few hours!

But although the Escort lacks finesse, its focused driving dynamics give it the same raw-edged appeal as today’s Renaultsport Clio 197 Cup.

It's hard to explain. I'm a Ford fanboi. Most bad Ford's don't make sense. I think the S2 Escort RST was pretty pants. I'd still love one. It's that command of respect that impresses me.

Forgive me but what are the mk1's with the wide arches? A Mexico? I see one most mornings sounding lary with a roll cage etc.

TBH I dont know many people that feel a S2 Escort RST commands much respect these days, even when they were new the astra gte generally made them look pretty silly (dont be a lamo and drag out the video of the modified escort beating the standard astra on 20 year old tyres as if it means anything, those of us who drove both when they were still pretty new know what they were really like, lol)

S1 was a cool car, S2 was really watered down and just generally a bit of a let down by comparison.

I dont hate them, but I dont really think they command anything other than that commanding the owner to learn about mechanics and rust proofing or get a well paid job.

The wide arches are added on afterwards, they were a popular mod inherited from the rally boys, but they werent on a mexico as standard.

The mexico wasnt really all that special as a car TBH, the RS1600 models were a lot better.

That would explain alot. The one i see looks like a rally car. I'll try and get a pic.

Ah sorry chip, the S2 commands no respect. Should have been another paragraph.

I meant older Fords and Fords in general really.
