sunflower oil as tyre shine!?

alright ppl,a mate who works at BMW told me that sunflower or vegetable oil is really good as a tyre shine instead of off the shelf stuff,which is normally s**t and dont last long! tried it today and it works a treat! anybody else heard of this?

Megs tyre shine gel lasts at least 1-2 weeks.

i used baby oil once (on my tyres), and after having the piss ripped out of me, it only kept the wet look for about 3 hours until it had dried/evaporated...
