Get the 106FA for actual polishing. Get the hex pads mate. Green and Blue.

Forget the Prime Acrylic not needed Buy Rejuvenate and get a good glaze.

Updated...

Shopping List:
- Iron X (I'm actually excited to try this out - such a saddo)
- Auto Finesse Obliterate Tar Removal
- Zaino Z16 clay
- Menz polishes. (106FA)
- 3M yellow and Blue (Or Hexlogic Green and Blue - Gally has spoken)
- Auto Finesse Rejuvenate
- Microfibres - Can never have enough microfibres!!
- Autosmart G101
- Vikan brush (for use on arches)
- EZ brush (for use on wheels)
- Bilberry wheel cleaner (running out of the stuff)
- Shampoo - Auto Finesse Lather (might aswell drop on the 3 for 2 deal)
- AG Tyre Shine (I like this stuff, always done me proud, so ill stick to this unless anything stands out to me on i4d)
- Gtechniq C4 (need this for the other cars lined up too - is there anywhere else, apart from direct, to get this from? i4d? cyc?) - So I could just get C1 or C5 instead of this?! What are the differences/benefits of each?
- Snow Foam. (I think mine is past it - Could do with refreshing my 'stock'). - Citrus POWAHH!!!

For sealant, I was just planning on using my current Zaino Z2 (iirc), as I have quite a bit of that left, unless theres anything else that you can recommend? (has to be an all rounder though, as id be using it on other cars - don't want to compromise quality for this though as the Sunflower is the priority)

Anything else that you guys can recommend or that you think may benefit the Sunflower?

Cheers guys. :)

Stick with Z2 mate it's utterly superb. I'd be buying Z8 or Z6 though. It'll look stunning.

I hate billbery. Although tbh every wheel cleaner I use these days pales in comparison to britegel.

Yup. I am really fond of this Z2 stuff.

I used to really like Bilberry stuff. I bought a 5L tub about a year and a half back. It seems to have "gone off" now though. Isn't a purpley/red colour anymore. Looks manky brown. I keep it indoors too, rather than the garage. May try something else this time.

C1 is C4 is C5, same products different labels to get round you applying to your bodywork and getting it wrong I think

And it begins...

So that's one order done. I'm going to try and get the rest ordered from i4d (and then search for the best place for the Gtechniq stuff).
The temptation is there to do another order with some more AF stuff though, whilst it's still 3 for 2. :S

Also ought to add some APC to the list too. Any recommendations, apart from Megs?!

Daisy or another generic APC from your local supermarket.

TBH the majority of the AF range is very goog and hard to ignore at 3 for 2. I keep getting as far as my basket with 3x citrus power

That's another £120 spent... :S

Why can't I have a cheap hobby?!!

(Had to substitute a couple products due to i4d not having them in stock/not stocking them at all - i.e. Hexlogic pads for 3M pads and I bought some Poorboys Trim Restorer to try that out, instead of the Gtechniq stuff)

I'm worried about the amount I've spent on cleaning stuff over the last couple of days and I don't normally bother with my cars!

Hasn't reached £120 yet though thankfully. Can you teach me how to use some of this stuff?

FLOL at BWAB, makes me smile every time I hear it.

My wife came home today and asked 'sym wants to know if you'll be a BWAB on her Jeep', I spat my tea out over the floor. I'll give her your details JD

FLOL at that, it's spreading!

Bit of a bump...

I'm wanting to get the ball rolling soon for my CSS prep, so need to start putting together a list of products that I need/want.

I still have a lot of things left over, so it's just a case of getting hold of products that i'd like to try out or that I need.

On the list up to yet:
- Prima Amigo - Is it "that" good?? Everyone speaks really highly of it. I want to try this out. Worth the pennies? I have AF Rejuvenate/Dodo LP atm.
- New pads - Just need to get a couple new ones. I think that I need to get a more aggressive pad, than the generic "polishing" pad, just to ensure that I do properly beast these remaining swirls out. Any recommendations? Usual suspects? Hexlogic? 3M?
- Wheel cleaner - Recommendations?
- APC/Arch cleaner - Recommendations? Would you then just use normal sealant to sort them? Never really done much work with arches tbh.
- Clay
- Iron-X
- Tar remover - Probably go with AF again, unless a decent alternative out there?
- More applicator pads and MFs - Can never have enough
- Will Dodo Juice Banana Armour suffice for wax? It's currently got a couple layers of that on and looks wicked imo, but any others that may be worth looking at?

Luckily, the week before CSS, i'm basically living at the OH's as the rest of her family is on holiday for the week (we go down the day after CSS), so from the Wednesday onwards, the car will be sat in her super amazing garage. Already booked a couple of days off to beast it and luckily, the work I have in-between is just down the road from hers, so hopefully ill get some decent results.

Not used amigo but it should fill minor swirls better than rejuvenate and LP so depends on the condition of the paint. I personally really like the finish of them via machine and should set a slightly better base for your wax

Pads is my personal preference but i preferred hexlogic to 3m.

Wheel cleaner ive never found a clear winner. Get them properly sealed then all you need is shampoo

  Inferno 225 cup
Arches possibly CG barebones??
Tardis for the tar?? If you want to give it a try out let me know.

Its the best I've used, spray on microfibre and rub gently (no need for pressure because it takes it straight off)

Also have bilberry if you want to use that works well for me, and I've you wanted to give wolfs body wrap and shine and seal a good go your more then welcome chap.

Better then buying loads of Products to use and find out you don't rate/get On with?

Drop me a pm if you Want to use them Paul.

Yeah sound. I've heard really good things about Amigo and the finish after machining it in. Ill give it a go, see if it lives up to the hype and whether it has an effect on the end result. I've always found LP to be good at what it does. Ill give it a go, but i'm hoping that it doesn't really have to do much "filling" as such this time. Aiming for perfection on the paintwork now.

Yeah, I think Gally suggested Hexlogic to me beforehand (in this thread maybe). I ended up with 3M as it's what I knew. May invest in some Hex this time then.

Re wheels. They do have a layer on RimWax on, but it isn't the greatest, as we all know. Just want something to use as an aid tbh, plus for when I do other cars. My Bilberry has gone off :dead:.

Ill check those products out matey.
Should you not just spray the Tardis directly onto the paint and give it a few seconds to really work on the more stubborn spots though? Then use pressure washer to remove?

  Inferno 225 cup
Yes you can, depends how stubborn the tar is, I don't like spraying loads of tardis onto the paintwork, so ifs its a little bit I spray on microfibre but I guess people use the product differently, I always wash again after to remove any tardis/tar left on the paintwork.
