really lol mine just got mot'd an ma wipers must go over ma sunstip by about 4" is it mibi if the strip is solid an not a tint ??

  My trusty lil 182 :)
i believe a solid strip on the outside of the windscreen that the wipers pass over will be a fail. a mate had to take his off because of this.

Dont think it matters mate im sure if theres anything pertruding the wiper (thats deemed to limit the drivers view) then its a fail.

I might be wrong, best asking them first i spose!

If the wipers touch the banner, it's a fail. I've never had an issue, but the MOT station have issued an advisory.

cheers for all the advice guys, will take it of the day its due. by the way what kind of connection am i looking at Beef-Mc? is it at the bottom, top near side?? where is it? cheers man

If your looking down at the engine, then its on the right side near the bottom.

It's just a little connector, unsure how to explain it properly. You'll most likely know it when you see it.

Sun visors

Sunvisors fitted to the driver's side, which cannot be stowed in the 'offscreen' position and which drop down obstructing the view through the swept area of the windscreen are a reason for rejection. A similar defect on the passenger side sunvisor is not a reason for rejection.

To me that looks like it could include suntrips.

No worries, may be worth asking your MOT place 1st as they may let it slip. The place where my ex used to get hers done would pass her sunstrip everytime but also issue a fail sheet at the same time just to cover themselves. That way officially it looks like it failed 1st time but passed on a re test. Just without the hassel of actually having to remove, then re test then re apply strip.

My sister's car was failed for her sunstrip. Really peeved her as i'd told her it would and I made sure of making the most of the "I told you so!" potential. :clown:

I wish I knew a garage round here that did that, 3 years in a row I took my car to different places, 3 years it failed :(

The mad thing is the sunstrip was a safety feature for me, I'm a midget and normal sunvisors do nothing for me but the sunstrip was ideal!

yeah if the wipers go over it its a fail...also if youve got a magic tree you can fail 1 of my cars failed because of the bloody magic tree from the mirror picky moters
