Suprising RR Result...

  350z GT
Ok so just had the Cup on a set of rollers near me, owned by a guy who builds race engines...

Result is 177.4 bhp

was only expecting 160ish at best

Heres the graph, ignore the massive torgue spike on the last run, slipped on the rollers...

A standard Focus ST was put on the rollers afterwards and made 223.1 so Rollers are accurate...

Cup is standard apart from a ITG Panel filter....as far as i know :/

  "Navy" N17 TWO
Mine made 183.6bhp on rollers - standard car (I only had it a month at the time!) lol

  350z GT
A guy called Smart Performance....he builds race engines for Minis mainly but will do runs if you ask him

and thats why we ran the ST after as i was a little sceptical but as that made what it should...

im fairly pleased :)

  350z GT
Does seem a little smooth lol

But should this affect the end figure??

And why would it read accurate for the ST and not mine??

  350z GT
The tyres slipped i meant...the car itself was rock steady....

There was no snaking side to side at all and was strapped down in 5 places

Also that was only the last run it did that....even on the one before it registered 176.3

they're properly optimistic, probably the most lol

Mine made on a hot day 210 on one run and 212 on another. anywhere else it's made between 200 and 205

somewhere like TDF who has a rolling road AND an engine dyno could be regarded as pretty accurate, anyway, who cares

if its fast its fast

Naith's 172 made "less than 150bhp" and out ran me the other day!

  350z GT
Agree....

Only did it so i have a starting point ready for the mods that are planned...that way i can roughly know how much each mod has added :)

still love the way the car drives, whether it had said 160 or 180 :)

but on a decent dyno martin, not a tonka toy dastek ;)

lol i didnt make 191 however i did make 173 as standard on falklands rollers when all other standard 172s were doing the usual 165 ish and 182s doing 170 odd.

same story a year later with inlets, 182 manifold, decat, stealth and itg, 188bhp 15hp gain seems about right for that lot, went from 145lbft to 160lbft too!

  Ph 1 172
Not as good as the ph1 with fancy orange bits in this months French car mag. He got 220 bhp from a remap, IK and Powerflow ''apparently'' LOL

I read that this month and did have a little chuckle to myself as that's the deal of the century, all these guys spending there cash on ITB's and low pressure turbos only end up with 210bhp-240bhp and they are spending a good couple of grand more lol think it's been on some very friendly rollers, although still looked a nice car

If your wheels were slipping on the rollers the figure is even more out from the close guestimate that a rr would give you in the first place.

Slipped once dude...you can see the spike in the graph...

was planted the rest of the run :)

PFC mag? didn't they do something similar in the old days with their 197 after a superchip remap? said it was 220bhp LOL
