Surf Control webfilter question

  Cupra
I saw there were a couple of people here who use it so thought I try here for help.

Our webfilter database has just crossed the 10GB boundary so I thought that I would do some spring cleaning and purge all data older than 3 months.

I have tried using the database tool but it just responds with "waiting for imports to stop" and stays that way indefinately.

I stopped all SC services and tried again with the same result.

Has anybody here successfully run the database purge tool?

P.S. We have not installed the SP2 yet...

sorry, their reply was, its a s**t product, we never sell it so that we don't have to support it as its a pain.

Apparently the best way though would be to get a sql expert to do something with a query as all the app will do is try and do its own query so you are better off doing your own.

They said you should buy something decent like websense, sorry, not very helpful, but apparently the DB is so much better, a lot more granular on the categories etc and a much better built product.

sorry i couldn't be of more help.

Thanks for trying. I had our supplier log in today to try and fix it too. They suggested it was our our problem with a link between the ISA and SQL servers.

We have it for another two years then I might consider buying into websense instead......
