suspension squeak

Has anyone experienced any creaking/squeeking from the front suspension when the car is in full lock, if so please help as I am a little worried to say the least (mk1 172)

Ive got this a prob as well....same car as you.

its the top of the strut rubbing against the strut tower. There is an actis report suggesting a modification to the strut tower (removing a little material to generate clearance).....

Not heard of it on the MK1 though, unless its the top engine mount problem, we had a fair amount of them comming back, either tightning up or metall rubbing metal.

Wicked mate, Shall tell them

So it was a faulty shock, shizzer my warranty runs out in April

the renault mod only applies to mk2 172s never done it on a mk1 172.try greasing the outer anti roll bar bushes.have had a few where the bushes have gone dry and make creaking noises.

mate where abouts are they, I have no idea

the bushes that are on the end of the anti rollbar where they bolt to the front wishbones.they are held in place by a clamp and a 13m nut/bolt.
