Swapping for a civic type r?

  E36 M3,172 cup
I have been asked if I want to swap for a civic type r for my 172 cup.
My cup has 54k on the clock and 3 owners
The civic 138k and standard with fsh
Would I be foolish swapping

It's quite high mileage where my Clio is low mileage and been faimily owned for 7 years and maintained mainly by Fred before he moved and then engine dynamics
The Clio is good spec too!
I don't really know what mine is worth

54k
Fsh although needs belts as 20k on them but nearly 5 years ago
I'm the 4th owner the previous my brother for 6 years
Pretty straight body work

What made you consider it? What's so good about the type r? Because it's standard and on high mileage, I can't see the appeal to swap with your low mileage, modified one?

Unless he's offering extra dough for yours on top, but still....

I have a m3 for more power just like the cheap thrills of a hot hatch.

I have these seats waiting for the Clio just need frames

Yeah I remember the road tests when they first came out all said the same thing, the Civic feels a higher quality car, it's more spacious, has a better engine and gearbox (one of the best engine/gearbox combos ever in a hot hatch to be fair), but for driving fun it's the Clio every time.

Both are really good cars.

Personally I think you'd be mad to swap a decent low mileage Cup for that Civic. The 172 Cup is getting more and more of a following, I can see them doing a bit of a "Trophy" in future and gaining value.

IMO a Type-R is a nicer car to drive and definitely better built, and the driving position and gearbox are way better. In terms of driving enjoyment I'd agree that the Clio has it nailed.

Come now Steven, an opinion of one whose never driven one is surely more valuable?

Currently owning both i'd have to say the clio is the more fun car to own but the civic is a better car.

Both of mine are on 90k both have full history's and low owners and both are in daily/weekend use so a 50 mile commute along with a cheshire country road thrashing at the weekends and there pretty evenly matched once you've worked out the whole v-tech thing, roughly the same on fuel etc.

All personal preference but swapping a clio for a civic done 100k more would be a pretty bad move!

I'll bare in mind the next time when deciding on which car is held in higher regard to post a video with absolutely no back story to driver ability and/or modifications to said cars.

Unsure what 9/11 has to do with anything.

Genuinely baffled that you'd even consider that swap with your mods and low mileage.

That isn't in a "I hate hondas" or being a clio fan boy as I absolutely love ctr's I'm just quite shocked you'd think they're roughly worth the same value!
