Swapping my 172 cup for a DCI

  Nissan 200sx
Was wondering if there was any sort of a buyers guide out there for the clio dci, i am looking at selling/swapping my 172 cup for one.

Is there any major things i should look out for in them ?

What models came with air con? did any of them come with climate control ?

I have bought myself a soarer 2.5 tt as a project car and want something nice and economical for my daily, and the clio fits that nicely and can dress it up to look like the RS's.

The only thing i find is that most DCI sellers arent interested in swapping :dapprove:, think i will have to pay my membership fee and put it up on here to see if there is any interest

Just keep the car you already have. Its not going to break the bank to run. Mine gets used locally and for long journeys and its far more economical than my Astra 1.6! Average 33mpg which is respectable for a powerful 2 litre car. The Astra only returns 26mpg at best.

I am wanting to go for a diesel as running a 2.5 big single turbo car is going to be slightly different to the clio, lucky if i see 15 mpg

Not a bad idea. I enjoy driving the uvver arf's dCi100. Turbotastic midrange torque which you will need after driving your boostbarge. My 172 felt soooooooo gutless after my Scoob.

I think it's down to the trim level as to what equipment you get. dynamique or d+ is the top of the range IIRC ? Sash's has a/c but no c/c.

If nothing else.. get one without a bloody sunroof !!!

Dynamique is the minimum trim to go for imo with the alloys, sports interior etc.

finding one with climate shouldnt be to hard as plenty were specced with it, a lot had xenons too. try and avoid Extreme 4 models as they were pretty low speced. however id take a 100 in extreme 4 over a well specced 80 imo, they are well worth it, especially when mapped!!!!

initiale paris modlels have massive spec with full leather, xenons, climate, cruise control, usually sat nav etc but they only come in 4 door.

I have read that they can suffer with oil consumption problems, my choices are the Clio, a Ibiza or a mg xr td

any car can suffer oil consumption problems, never put a drop in any of my dci's even my old 140k miles one. a worn turbo will cause it to use oil, as it will on any car
