Taking off steering wheel

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
How do i "safely" take off the old steering wheel and replace it with a RS one?

  172
d/c battery for 15+ mins
look at underside of wheel
pop out clips holding in airbag
pull airbag forward gently
d/c airbag and horn
gently place on floor atleast 3 metres away.lol
use torx 40 iirc to undo but not all way, then pull steering wheel forward and off column
once off column then remove bolt then reverse for refitting

  172
look at the back of the wheel, just to the left and right of the column, they will be the only 2 holes in the back of the steering wheel, need to push them outwards to unclip, easiest one at a time

  172
there arent any torx screws below the wheel, there is only the one which you will see when you remove the airbag

All I did was disconnected the battery, left for 10 mins.

Turn the steering wheel to the left to get to the first airbag clip and then prise that opff with a flat headed screwdriver. Same with the other side.

Pull the airbag part towards you then disconnect the wiring.

Remove old bolt with a T50.

Pull the steering wheel off, might need a bit of force to remove it.

Replacing is just the reversal off removal.

(The bolt gets tighten to 20nm if your using a torque wrench)

So how tight do i tighten it when i put it back on?.... coz i dont have a torque wrench to measure.

It is bloody easy.

Turn the wheel 90 degrees. Push the airbag in. Using a screw driver force the clip off. Then rotate wheel 180 degrees and do the same thing with that clip.

Airbag comes out then theres a torx screw in there. Undo it until the last couple of threads hit the wheel off and then undo the screw all the way for complete removal.

Putting it back on is the reverse.

15 min job.

Yeah or the clips won't move outwards. You'll see.

It is a piss easy job, I do it every single day. I only had 1 wheel between two cars up until late last night.

When i put the new steering wheel in, would there be a guide to which way round i put the wheel?... would it only fit one way?...
