Tapping/rattling noise from the engine

Hi I have just purchases a 1.2 Clio 8v and after the car is warm and ticking over every 30-60 seconds there is a loudish rattling/tapping noise that lasts about 10 sec then goes again anyone any idea what this could be

I must add that the noise is not there when I car is in motion

The fan unit? Makes sense with it lasting 10 seconds every 60 or so when warm

Does the car have air conditioning? If so, might be low on gas and fans are cutting in and out

Carbon Can ? if you rev it up when stationary does it stop for a while ?

It could be your heat shield come lose. It's a big metal lump just infront of the main engine block. Grab it and see if it wiggles. It's only held on by two bolts.
