are there any tastefull mods u guys can rccommend withougt spending too much and being ott.
Pretty simple really. Cars need air and fuel to produce power. The more the merrier. The assumption here is that the standard air-intake (airbox and filter) is restrictive, owing to the manufacturers desire to make it as cheaply as possible and keep the noise down. An induction kit replaces the airbox and filter with a less restrictive (and usually noisier) intake. This might be something simple like a cone filter on the end of a pipe, or a more elaborate system designed to pipe in cold air from outside of the engine bay. Either way the idea is to get more air in - with a nice little side-effect; most induction kits make a really nice noise!Quote: Originally posted by neil on 14 November 2002
Forgive me for being completely uninformed (never had a car let alone modified one)... but can somebody take a minute to briefly explain how an induction kit works, and its implications on 1) performance 2) warranty 3) insurance
