temp gauge

While driving my 182 today,noticed the temp gauge going from normal down to cold then up down.when it was on cold the revs increased on idle.am i right in thinking temp sender? or any other ideas it could be.also how easy is it to fit this if this is what it is?

Get the temp sender changed buddy, that should sort it
