Temperature On A 172 Sport

Afternoon all,

I'm just asking a quick question about the engine temperature.

Just recently as oppose to the temperature going to half way on the temp gauge like it normally goes it seems to be lower now when I am driving the car.

It never goes high but it doesn't go up to half way anymore.

Anyone ideas?

Mine does this too mate. Quite a few people have this prob. Just a dodgy thermo i think..... does it go up to halfway if you drive harder ?

Easy to do or will it need to get in the garage?

yep sounds like its partially stuck open. doddle to change. remove airbox then the thermostat housing is easily removed

Man the strangest thing... just after reading the post the same thing is happened 2 my 182 on the way home :S. Is this a part thats covered under warrenty??

Yep, 182's have it as a common issue.

Mine also does this, it goes up and down a bar depending on revs.
