Terrible Brakes

Wonder if one of you more mechanically minded could reccomend some stuff for me please

I need some new brake pads and I think the fluid needs changing.

My current pads are "cheapo shite brand" fitted about 6-7k ago but are genuinely terrible, and twice on Meets have suffered brake fade.

The brake fluid hasn't been changed ever I don't think and it's a 52 reg.

The question is:

My discs are fine but I would like some good pads, preferably ones that are a bit more resistant to fade (if possible or is this down to the discs?)

And should my brake fluid have been changed before now and what should I be replacing it with?

Brake fluid should be changed first as the pads may have some life left, I have ferodo ds2500s and have never suffered brake fade, but they do seem to need warming up before you "need" them, had a few times when I have overshot traffic lights.lol.

^^^yep DS2500s are the t1ts for road and track work. Just don't do 4 straight laps at the ring or you warp discs lol.

i had a focus and i always got brake fade when i was hammering it, and i bought a set of green stuff pads, they need no warm up and have great stopping power an ideal upgrade from standard brakes

im using the standard 259mm disks same as you al with a set of green stuff pads and they never fade, infact once they get up to temperature they bite twice as hard lol

really need to change my fluid too tho!
