Well at the rate things are going, I think its time I setup my own topic on my audio project after my Kicker packed up.

So todays lil task was sourcing a remote cable for my amp's remote. Since I departed with my Escort, that was one thing I forgot to take out. Quick trip to Maplin and come home with a RJ11 cable which was pretty much what I needed. So here it is fitted.

Ashtray holder flips open to reveal bass controller.

I had one with my amp so saw no reason why it shouldnt be fitted. I rather control it from there than my head unit so I dont need to fiddle around via menus all the time. My head unit does get a bit time consuming if I sit and mess about.

Just a quick update. Back in the days when I had the Escort, I had all my ICE. The majority of it was removed and gathered dust but I have decided to throw it back in. Head unit is already in and now just the screen.

Ordered the power cable which arrived last night and now can get underway on fitting it all. Now the choice from the poll, the PS2 slim is going to go in…..for now.

Now the dilemma of either hooking the console to the screens junction box or the head unit directly. If I goto the head unit directly, switching consoles in the future is a pain since the whole head unit needs to be removed. If I goto the screens junction box, means I cannot take a feed from the head unit for videos or OSD.

I could just get a few couplers and a a few phono cables to extend them so changing consoles can be done. Choices!

Think the best thing to do is get the screen and power all fitted before trying anything else. Better make sure its all worked still.

Well I put off sorting out the sound deadening and new enclosure for my sub and fitted the screen, junction box and PS2. Rough pic for now but a few more can sort out tomorrow.

Bit of an update. The Orion has gone to another owner. I couldnt find enough space for more power, bigger box without sacrificing having a space wheel.

So instead, I managed to get hold of a RE XXX and a 35htz tuned box.

Now to move my amp around, tweak it and then jump about.

No worries, well hopefully after a tweak tomorrow, a nice little video. From what I have heard already, it does drop nice a low.

is the screen in its final place? does your hand hit it when changing gear? and is it removable? like for when parked up?

i want to have a carpc but struggling to find somewhere for the screen

Silly or not, it's serious fun. . As for the screen, fully removeable. Hands are fine when changing gear but the only issue is getting to the heater controls. I might just switch to a newer head unit after finding some good components

do you reckon the clio would accept a double din? im guessing the hazard switch panel would need to be moved and loss of middle heaters could it be done?

In theory it can, you wont need to loose the heaters or switches. From when I got my hand behind, its a bit shallow but do-able.

It does a bit since it was made for a Corsa-C originally so not as wide as my boot. My amp is now mounted on the side so I dont want any movement to block its circulation so used a scrap bit of wood to keep the box in place.

Next is to carpet it which I might do this weekend. Maybe a velcro bottom to keep it planted.
