OOF!

I could be wrong, but that doesn't look super deep, so hopefully it will buff out.

Looks more like you've got something or somebody a caught your car 2bh mate, just from the direction of it I mean, although it could of been a dwarf reaching up.. got to watch them dwarf's

Looks accidental perhaps but nonetheless gutting. Some people need a hollow point bullet in their dumb heads.

I parked at a supermarket a couple weeks back with like a million free spaces in one corner. Came out and there was a car parked about 3 inches away from mine. I mean like SRS? Felt like going back in to buy a meat clever and wait for the driver to return.

This is how s**t like this happens :(

Not trying to be a c**t or anything but it's through to the undercoat so the only way it'll buff out is if the whole car is polished down to the undercoat to reveal a grey car.

That'll need a bit of paint but shouldn't be too expensive?

Imagine the whole panel will need doing.

Prob talking about £150 i'd imagine bud, cost me £250 for door, front wing and rear quarter

I'm sure that could be touched up and wet sanded/polished back up at a decent cost. I'd try that first anyway, worst case would be a spray which you think it needs anway.

Not nice when it happens though.

Shame you're not a bit closer Darren I could make that look a million times better in about half an hour.

You may well be right.
I was hoping that the whitening was where it had abraded the lacquer and would machine out.
Hopefully, this is the case.

Bit of a shitter either way.

Cheers for the comments guys - and gally, wherabouts are you? ;)

I'll probably try and get a few quotes sorted out rather than do it myself - I'd crap it doing that.

gaz - what's with the two-tone???

Long story mate! Replaced the drivers door as the original had a repair above the handle. So in my wisdom i bought a straight Mondial door. In sunlight though it was a different shade to the rest of the car. So wanted the door repainting/blending...... Normally use a top notch bodyshop, but this time thought i'd try somewhere else (i've worked there- seemed good). Picked it up last weekend, now the whole side is too light. Never noticed when i picked it up as it was raining. So now i've got the hassle of trying to get a refund (dont want them to put it right) and take it to my regular place :( :(. Gutted tbh!

f*****s. Nothing worse than that sort of hassle. The guy I use is not cheap, but his work is great.

Exactly same place my cup got done! Was at Trafford center. Cost me just short of £300 to get fixed. Did the rear panel and blended into the door. Mine was right back to the metal

Straight to the metal m8 :(. Thanks for the offer of the kit though, but I don't think it would sort this out.

Argh! Gutting gaz. The trouble is with something like that, is that you ALWAYS notice it afterwards. My driver's side lock got punched out on the Punto GT when some c-unit stole the CD player. Although the repair job on the lock area was brilliant, the paint match wasn't. Just like yours - it was far too light. :(

Hope you get it to how you want it, m8.

Gutter man, your car is always immac too!!

Thanks Alan! She's got a fair few stonechips over the past 72k miles, but aside from that, the bodywork isn't too bad at all. I'm certainly no expert with detailing, but I do try to keep it looking half-decent at least. ;)

The single biggest concern that I have, m8. It's times like this that I wish the paint was just a plain non-metallic black. I trust the lads where it will be done, but I reckon they will have their work cut out.

Thanks again for all the comments, people. Definitely feeling the CS Love & Support! :approve:

Booked in for repair?

No m8. I'm just going to have that rear-quarter resprayed, I think. I had a door ding removed (the only one on the car!) a few months back, which was a little further back than the scratch. The bodywork itself is smooth, but the paint on the ding is marked.

I also caught the body slightly when changing the rear dampers age ago. I guess having that whole section resprayed would kill a fair birds with one stone.

It's the colour match that I'm concerned about more....

A good detailer would be able to sort that with a touch up pen and a bit of wet sanding mate. Worth a try before an expensive respray

Absolute shitter mate, I know what it's like as mine had similar treatment a couple of months ago.

Can't have anything without some senseless fcuk wit damaging it.

I had an incident with a flying wheelie bin that hit my black gold 182, had it resprayed, blended perfectly :) In portsmouth though
