The 172 gearbox

Hi all
does anyone on here have issues with changing up through the gears when driving there cars in anger, more spacificaly when changing from second to third. I have always had problems with this and find it very hard to do without crunching the gears. Third gear seems to be on an angle, like up and to the right of center

this is usually not a problem when driving normaly, if i change slowly and pull the stick to the right it slots in nice and smooth, but this can be a total pain on me and the box when slamming it up through the gears.
Mine has done this all the time ive owned it, ive asked about it on here before and just wondering if there are eny more cases of this now the cars are getting abit older.

I had a problem moving up gears sometimes. Was defo more apparent going from 2nd to 3rd.

After a couple of trips to Reno and telling them that it was NOT the clutch (that they wanted to charge me for) I got a new box under warrenty.

the jc5 129 is a bit of a crap gear box im on my 3rd one in 12k miles , if you having trouble changing the selctor will be bend or the syncro will be gone

how much do you think that will end up costing?

Common problem that many people had mentioned before. you cannot change extremely fast, got to be very accurate on clutch and stick handling.

BTW, change the gear box oil more often.
