The AA

  Skoda Fabia vRS

right im a member of the AA through my bank (Lloyds TSB)

but ive never knew much about em

do you pay for every call out ?.........do you not pay for any call outs ?

what about parts ?.........labour ?.........what about moving the car back to home or to a garage ?

I did driving lessons with the AA, and got free cover, for that year which is the Roadside option! That is to the best of my knowledge the cheapest one.

With this, you dont pay for callouts and if they cannot fix your car at the side of the road they tow you home or to your destination - which ever is closest!

get at least relay 200, they will tow you to any destination in the UK if youve broked down more than a 1/4 mile from your home address, dont bother with roadside cos if they cant fix it, YOU have to fork out for the recovery.

with roadside if they cant fix it they will tow you to a garge to get the work done. Ill see what I can find out about what they do for lloyds cos my old man works for them

I am covered by the AA three times over now, I also have the LLoyds Bank cover, the cover on my new 182 and I have a personal cover form my last car I havent cancelled! Which one should I call.....hmmm

BRUN the cover you have is just the basic as my dad has the same from Llyods. They will tow you to a garage or home for free, if they cant fix it where it is. Thats about it i think, pretty good for nout. Also remember it covers you not your car so if your mate brakes down with you in the car they will tow him home.

Dave, you can call the AA and have your personal cover suspended until your other cover expires. I got 3 years cover with my new motor the same level as I was paying for personal cover. My personal cover is now suspended until the free cover runs out, then the personal cover kicks in again until renewal. Its all automatically done and I havent got to pay the AA for almost another 4 years

AA are pretty good, we (Carole Nash Insurance) just bought all their motorcycle policyholders off them!!

yo there BRUN. i work for the AA so i can tell you what you got.

it is the basic cover which is roadside. you get 5 callouts a year from when the policy started which means they will try and fix the problem when they come out. your not covered if you break down at home or within 1/4 mile so push it down the road if you do. ;)if it cant be fixed they will give you a local recovery up to 10 miles from where ever you are, maybe a bit furthur if you get a decent ptl out to yer. any furthur you gotta pay a garage which they can sort out but it aint cheap.

you can upgrade to relay for about £40 a year i think so you get taken anywhere you want, unless from home address where its upto 10 miles again. thats about it. hope this clears it up for yer
