The best Cleaning products

Apologies if this has been discussed before but was wondering what cleaning kits / products people recommend?

I have heard that autoglyn was good but are there are other better ones on the market? I dont mind spending a few quid?

  Vee dub

Yeah prob best to do a search to be honest

I use Meguiars, and have used Autoglym which is great stuff aswell.

Do a post search for lots of opinions :)

Zaino is the best easily. Better than swissol, meguirs, mothers and the most expensive zymol and a tiny proportional of the price of some of them. Tests have been done however cant remeber the website addresses.

whats wrong with washing up liquid and a sponge, then a leather chamois lol
DONT whatever you do put washing up liquid on your car
tis actually excellent if you want to strip your car of waxes before polishing and reapplying a wax! even mequiars recommend it!

exactly my point, washing liquid contains large amounts of salt, this will strip your wax and your laquer if your not carefull, it leaves your car streaky and leaves the paint rough and damaged, i dont know why meguiars recommend it ??(a link to the page that says it would be ihelpfull), put it this way cover one car in washing liquid and another one in proper car wash and i know which ones paint will last longer

For the car i use tescos finest. but i did cheat and have the car coated with teflon.

As for the wheels, diluted truck wash. And before anybody says URGHH i have used it for years on TTs and it brings wheels out like new.

i use the diluted detergent on the car to get rid of all the rubbish then go over that with a wash and wax. the wheel cleaner i use has acid which only eats the brake dust. all very good when my car is clean it properly gleam and i make the stuff myself so it costs nothing.

I wasnt aware that wul had salts in it only that it strips the wax!

Most cars built over the past 10 - 15 years have had clear coats on them, but even then there can be cases where paint pigment can be lifted (i.e. overspray, bad crash repair job etc). Either way I would not worry as you are not doing any harm.

If you think that a colour wax has been used then I would be tempted to wash the car in fairy liquid (other dish washing detergents are available), but that will have to be your call.

Mer stripes a layer of paint off your car everytime you use it, good for boats though. May as well use fairy, kinder to the hands and less abrasive lol.

yeh, its probably (i still wouldnt) ok to use once to completely strip your car of wax, but you would have to re apply wax straight away, and you would not want to use it regulaly.
