Thought i would share my lil project its a 2001 mk2 ph2 clio 172 in nv676 (pearl black)

got it as a standard totally unmolested car but high miles (127k) just after the forge action day (14/09/2013) with the diff circlip gone.

heres how she sat they day after

so i had the car the next step was to source a gearbox..

begin a 19 guy its my first mk2 i owned, but checked the speedo drive went into the box and it did so i found a low miles jc5129 cup box the next day and proceeded to fit it with a new clutch.. no pics of that..

so car was fixed, still had mot till november and was basically ready to go, but as was still insured on another car till october i waited till it was up and swapped them over, but in the mean time i carried on doing changes..

fitted williams wheels i had laying around

got hold of a brand new blue pipe for IK (20£ ebay win!!) and fitted my BMC i had doing nothing and removed the engine cover

she needed new cv boots and exhaust mounts so got them next ready to fit my stainless system i got for £100 quid!!

fitted

got some pressed plates as look cleaner and also did the tow ring thing

got a momo boss off ebay next to fit the momo wheel i used in my last car

did the skoda fabia vrs splitter

did the old headlight polish using 3m headlight restoration kit

thats how it stayed until march 2014, had the mot in november no advisories so just used it and abused it..

then i see a bonnet i just had to have!!

so bye bye old bonnet!! (wind blew it over so i killed it off)

hello new one!!

everyone seemed to be nagging me about its height so i got cup shocks and spax springs and fitted all that, plus -1degree camber all round..

gave it a good back to blacking with autoglym gel

new sticker 'because!'

chucked on a whiteline rarb

fitted a flocked dash

fitted solid engine mounts and a puremotorsport ac delete kit

gave the bay a wash/degrease

black interior dash strips

even modified the sticker!

then i ummm stripped it

and fitted these

had these modified and custom painted

and then fitted them, with braided hoses all round and new much better brake fluid

thats about it for now, pretty good the time ive spent on it and only spent 2300 on it so far.. just got a oil change to do before FCS 2014 and shes going to be on track used how its used all time

Looking good, love that almost any colour you put with black looks stunning.
Question on the harness's, is that safe? I've never seen anyone mount them to the floor before.

You can mount a belt buckle were ever there is or was an existing belt socket perfectly safe, and these harnesses are mounted to were the rear belt would have been

The belts are ok and safe.. but only temporary as getting a cage custom made from t45 steel, so harness bars will be the next location.. I done the brakes and seats all this month so funds are low with fcs coming up ect.. plus I stopped so nothing will go wrong before the show (famous last words)

The brembos are renaultsport ones only found on clio 197/200 and meganes.. but moddifed quite a bit from standard units to enable me to still run my 15s and then there painted clio racing blue to get them to pop.. but no one can see them anyway.. people have thought I just painted the fronts

Cars changed slighty now.. firstly a conrod decided to leave the block on track at fcs opps.. sliced my main water pipe and hole in rad!! engine history was unkown same as car (nothing when I got it) and was on 127k when got it amd lasted 10k in my hands dephaser had a rattle anyway from day one so wasnt putting money into it..

Anyway got a 182 lump on sunday 8th june with all manifolds ecu blah blah and belt & pulley not long done.. thats fitted now, just need a lil link pipe for 182mani to 172 cat back made, new rad and fluids and am ready to roll again..

Also painted my rear calipers RB to match fronts

No pics so will have to take my word for it lol

Cars been going epic since 182 engine fitted done prescott hill, the black mountains, about 5k since i fitted the lump and preformed spot on

Painted inside satin black with rattle cans as im pikey like that..

Have fitted coilovers and got it low low

Next is get a pure motorsport shifter and maybe some pure motorsport engine mounts then finish off the turbo conversion i half started as now badly need boost in my life

There brembos off the rs197/200 megane rs.. They have been modded quite a bit, skimmed down abit to seat on disc properly.. And the radial bolts are shorted and where they go is milled down so they seat flush with caliper.. Ill put up a comparison pic of normal and mine.. Also had to change brake lines and fit 20mm spacers to fit them under 15s, these are only made for renault not the old tech 406 ones..

But they are epic payed for themselves over and over!!

Thanks thats the aim to have a turn key daily track ready car that will go there and back under its own steam apart from combe its been spot on

Done some more lately..

added some gauges for oil pressure and temp

got a new shifter

and binned the whiteline rear anti roll bar off in favour for one of these 22mm PMS one
