'THE' clio brake set-up were and how much ?

  CLIO PH1 172
so after lots of searching it seems the only way to go with my brake set up is

discs-brembo hc

pads-ds2500

braided hoses

and some super blue fluid (not really sure whats best when it comes to fluid tbh but this stuff seems decent)

but my question is wheres the best place to buy this stuff for the best price.

links would be great please people

thanks!

Where did you get the pads from in the end and how much did they set u back?

cars taken a slightly different root now so there was no real need for ds2500's so i opted for some mintex jobbies

Has anyone run Mintex 1144 or 1155 pads (both front AND rear)?

My experience in the vx220 world is that Pikey plain (still vented) discs and good pads are the way forwards.... 1144's were great but too soft and wore too fast for my liking. I then tried Performance Friction Braking 97 spec carbon metallics which were EPIC!!!!! perhaps overkill for road use lol. And now on Mintex 1155's as they last about 3 times longer than 44's but offer the same great braking of the 44's.

My thoughts were (if the std stuff isnt upto keen road use) would be cheap and nasty front discs, OEM rears (if needed), and a full car set of 1155's if anyone does them. Failing that perhaps carbon lorane (spelling) CL5+'s

Passes MOT's, therefore road legal.

Never have been a fan of DS pads, plus I like be difficult and go away from what everyone else does (you really dont want to know my feelings about 'tuners' lol)

I've ALWAYS had bad experiences of fitting OEM pads on the rear and different (uprated) pads up front.... I know the ABS tends to sort most of the issue out but I prefer to be matched all round to keep the system happy.

^doesn't work like that on the clios, the rears really do F-all so you can waste your money on fancy rear pads if you want, but its pointless

i don't rate mintex (when compared to ferodo) they work well, but wear out way too quick, 1 trackday @ bedford we had 1166's down to the backplates!

Get some HEL braided lines from camskill. The ~£50, about the same as goodridge, but they last a lot better.

Buy the ds2500 pads over the ds performance once.... I changed my pads a couple of days ago, from the performance to the 2500, and they're a lot better.

Those i got... ds2000's ,old name for DS performance..... £45! Ktec sell them for double that.... and the D2500's are even dearer LOL

Yes i know DS2500's are a better pad, but i couldnt justify £100+ on pads for a road car!

Quote of the day!

I know it dosent work that way ;) but for the most part if the poxy MOT is happy then you can get away with all kinds of utter wrong.

A set of 1166's in one day..... fecking hell the clios pad size is somewhat small for the use, although 66's are softer than 55's but higher heat capacity etc blah blah.
The VX's front pads are utterly dinky (think rear caliper size for the Impeza's) and manage to haul 900Kg's down from good track speeds on a regular basis, and the 55's last for atleast 18 months.

Some experimenting shall be done, as I have a dislike for DS2500's (or more to the point, I wasnt impressed by them..... I put them in the greenstuff boat, but without the danger lol)

note, while I might be a n00000bie 'know nothing tosser' here, I am (unfortunately) a forum/car tinkering veteran and know what way is up, along with playing cars at the OEM level for a living.
