The EP801 is finally here...

It has both of those things. Getting the indoor area may be a challenge, but I'm sure it could be managed.

P.s - gearknob's fine. Bonnet not so.

Are you coming Saturday then?

Planning on changing, Kev?

I got rid of the 800 last year mate. Been using the 3M for a while now. Different level to the 801 obviously. The Millwaukee is still a lovely machine.

I can't do either of the weekends chatted about in the thread, sadly. Up in the Lakes for my birthday and was in Kent last weekend. We need a casual pint.

Of course you did, I remember now. I still want to try the Flex...

Flex is the red one and festool the grey?

Flex was very nice to use, hold, general feel and weight. Festool was as good but couldn't see the diference considering the price increase. Flex was definitely worth the extra to the 3m in my mind if you'll be a regular user

Used to, he's a Festooligan now! Great machines. I love the Chicago but they had major quality issues. Was also a Millwaukee in a different body. ;)

Thought as much. To all comments above.

Need your comments in the what have you bought thread (both of you).

all this talk and recent purchases JD? anyone would think you're planning on selling the car??? used my full pot of glasur a lot recently, and I think I prefer the harder waxes so contemplating keeping the concours and selling glasur on again

back on topic, I can only comment on the 800, but presume other than layout the 801 is the same machine. The feel of them is very much like that of a DA, whereas you can feel the diference in the way the pad works the panel on a full rotary. They feel much safer than a rotary which is quite hard to explain. it really blurs the lines between DA and rotary

It's one of those things in hindsight, the little amount I use my machine, maybe I should have kept my DA and worked more on my technique instead of stepping up to rotary as I've seen more experienced users achieve identical levels of correction with both machines, yet the DA is a lot more versatile as it lends itself to using it to glaze, cleanse etc.

Doh! I just ordered one, now you're saying its a bit pointless if I've got a DA?!

I'm confused :(. Dunno if to get a da, or this.

What would be best for a complete beginner with a machine polisher?

Beginner, low user or wanting to glaze or cleanse instead of full on correction = DA

So much so I'm thinking of switching back to a DA from my rotary
