The Joys Of New Oil :-)

3k miles done in the williams already since i got it so its oil change time...

I Got 6 litres of ELF Competition oil direct from renault at under 3squid a litre (bargain!) and spent this morning changing the oil, just wanted to say a extra thanx to the renault mechanics at its last service 4 tightening up the oil filter to 5000000Nm

Anyway, 1st impressions are real gud... the car feels more eager to shift and has quietend up a bit more so its less like a tractor on these cold starts.

And a little hint for any1 having to replace there oil temp/level sensor.. cos its such a bugger to get a spanner to it the easiest thing to do is get a old 19mm spanner and grind it down to about 4" long! Works a treat ;)

Had mine done today mate, filters, plugs and oil.. seems a lot smoother now, and like you say, the engine has a nicer note too, there were about three different makes of oil in it before!!

Seems to be more lively too, not sure if its psychological as its only about 4k since the last service, but that was over a year ago!

it should but my on track temps are too high that i loose too much oil pressure......no i dont have an oil cooler lol.

  Skoda Fabia vRS

if its the stuff im thinkin of, it would be Elf Competition ST 15W-50, that stuff i sent you BenR

It was ELF Competition ST 10w40 i used, and i just asked me local dealer if they could get it in jim cos nowhere seems to stock ELF anywhere

All id say is if u have problems go to another dealer... ive been through 3 renault dealers since i had my 172 cos of the sh*t theyve put me thro!
