It's pretty common to race through Sherburn

I think I know the road in question, and funnily enough it's a common place for a camera van (@leeds_182 probably the A162?)

The old A1 stretch is a bit of a race track too, especially for bikers with Squires just round the corner, used to frequent JDM meets there and there were all sorts of shenanigans going on.
