The R26

  S2 106 GTI
Haven't really put many pics up of the car, had it now for around 4 months (time flys!!!) as some of you may know I changed it from a trophy. Its a fantastic upgrade, power and speed is great, handling is fantastic and the brakes....well, there brembos.

The fuel cost as gone up more, but luckily I only drive the car every 3rd week now, so evens out.

added a few little mods since owning

- Stage 1 remap (rs tuning)
- Samco Hose kit
- HKS SSV
- Tinted rear windows
- Renault sport decals on seats

After that Ive been keeping her very clean and enjoying the drive.

Few pics after a quick clean and had a run out

Future plans..... Nothing really! not going down the route of spending loads on it, if the exhaust falls off then I'll look for a new one, and replace parts when they need replacing.

Cheers Rich

Was just looking at these today, you get a lot of car for the money. And nicely different (and more of a rarity) than the CTR/VXR counterparts. Insurance was the downfall though, Admiral asking £700.

Nice motor. :)

The wheels were done from by renault under warranty by the previous owner. Paint was flaking or something so they agreed to refurb them and he chose the satin black.

Oh yes! A massive increase, was the best £300 I've spent, also did it from my living room. Bought an rs tuner and Paul emailed me the map over, uploaded it on the rs tuner plugged it into car and away you go

Lovely! Never thought id like it in silver but was proven wrong when u came to that hawes run. Looked stunning, especially with the black wheels!

Brilliant.

I've always been a bit on / off with the shape of these, but I think this is the best colour and really suits it.

Do want :)

Clean, tidy, simple. Done. Good on you for keeping it OEM Rich.

Don't really want to go down the route of 'over' modding it! as I said if parts wear out then I'll replace/upgrade. A mate had a white one and only had it for 6 months spent a fortune on it managed to get it to 300bhp but had loads of problems and said I wish I never touched it.

They are brilliant out of the box.

Agreed, it wasn't the reason I sold but after remapping mine it started to mis-fire and Renault were useless in trying to fix it.

Many thanks for all your comments!

As for the colour, I was going to go for either Blue, Black or LY. Mercury Gray wasn't even on the cards! I went to view a black one, looked fantastic all polished up but after a quick test drive it showed all the dirt and since I am a clean freak... The stickers stuck out too much on a blue as I wanted the stickers but to look subtle and LY well.......it stands out and looks great but it wasn't me.
On the way home from looking at one I went to look at a mercury gray 1st impressions was it looked 100% right. so I bought it!

Mercury silver mate - long way from grey!
Mercury looks good on the 250 as well, just dont scratch it as it's a b**ch to match

Lovely mate :)

What's the difference in these wheel nuts? They seem to be all the rage atm! I need some new ones...
