Hi
I dont know if you can remember but I had a terrible shake between 50 - 70mph threw the footwell of my phase 1 sport. The harder the accelleration the worse the shake. However if you creeped up to 60mph and held it there, the shake would go. Anything over 80mph and it would also go.
I had the wheels balanced twice by two different companies and I also was advised to get rid of my Yokohama Spec - 2 Tyres which I now regret and bought a set of p600 perelies. The car had been too many garages and no one could identify the problem.
It was up on ramps and no one had a clue. The renault garage couldnt even work it out.
However the problem has now been fixed. It was the driver side drive shaft. In the shaft there are 3 bearings. One of the three bearings has worn and was fooooked. This led to alot of play and a hell of a lot vibrating.
The garage that found it was a breakers yard in Bungay could Cit Ren. They specialise in French cars and they guy in the workshop found it in around 10 minutes. This was such a relief of my mind as I was thinking the worse and thought it would never get fixed.
If any one has this problem I hope this helps.
