What is everyone using for charging? I was thinking of getting this

I do have a protector on it though so guess it would need to be removed to be charged?

I just plug mine in. That looks like good value but not sure it'd fit with my Bobovr head strap on though  .
Make sure your protector isn't covering the vents. Heard a few people having overheating issues with them on.

Good shout, got the bono t strap as well, didn’t think of that.

Vents seem to be open, few little bits covered for strength but nothing mental.

Might give it a go, cheap enough and get the case with it.

Having pissed away tens of billions of dollars Meta is now scaling back their um, Meta division?

Honestly I have absolutely no idea where the money has gone. They've made a couple of generations of headsets, each better than the last. But what about the rest?

It's like a f**king black hole or something?

Will be selling my HTC Vive Pro 2 full kit very soon - as I simply don't use it.

Think I've used it once this year alone. If I've used it ten times since I bought it, I'd be surprised.

If anyone is looking for a VR Headset, I have my Meta Quest 2 that im tempted to shove up for sale. Ive only had it a year or so.

I used it about 5 or 6 times, ever, for Sim Racing. I just cant get on with it. Its absolutely pristine, comes with a very long, correct spec, USB C Cable (at some insane cost). Box is included.

Could basically be passed off, minus some stickers, as brand new. Pretty ideal for xmas tbh.

Even more mad when you look, or try to look at what that $70bn has actually bought.

Apart from the headsets (which must return some money in sales) I genuinely cannot fathom where the money has gone.

How much are you wanting for it?
What issues did you have with it? I’m looking at getting one for the sim rig.

I honestly havent had a look what they're worth! If its going through CS, less than ill put it on Vinted for to save dealing with the mongs. PM me if you want and ill send you everything over. Its literally mint and comes with all the boxes etc.

I had some issues getting it set up, but for the most part that was user error. Now its all sorted, it was pretty amazing to use. Unfortunately, since expanding the family business and doing 6 day weeks, I just dont get the time. That and my graphics card is being pushed pretty hard so I dont think I ever got the full experience I could have!

Yeah walkabout golf is cool, and i am really tempted by Golf+ but would love to play a demo first. I also dont want it to affect my real life swing, which is already s**t enough.

Metro Awakening, Arizona Sunshine 1 & 2 were all really good. Eleven Table Tennis is fun and Quantum Void is cheap and pushes the graphics pretty well.
I've just got VR Racer Hoverbike which I've not tried yet but gets brilliant reviews as a Wipeout type clone.

the little 5 year old is all over the Quest at the moment, playing I am Cat. Cast it to the TV and just watch him trying to figure the tasks out.

Curious Tale of Stolen Pets was another good little game.

Anything else I can get him?

Will be selling my HTC Vive Pro 2 full kit very soon - as I simply don't use it.

Dug it out of retirement to give it another go today. Took about 20mins to setup - then I had all the faff of re-centering, graphic display options, calibration, etc.

All of which I coped with. It's when I put the headset on and despite it's super smoothness and accuracy to the slightest of head movements - that I was still looking through Fresnel lenses.

I don't understand these. At all. From what I've read, they were there to keep the cost relatively sensible back in the day, but also helped with reducing potential motion sickness in a number of users. That's fine - but the trade off is to make all but the most direct centre of the lens blurry and unreadable. Imagine wearing a brand new pair of glasses, but before you put them on your head, you smear grease all around the outside of each lens.

It's s**t. Simple as. When used with racing or flight sims were the visual context in your periphery is paramount - you can't read sod all. Dials, buttons and other displays simply become unreadable unless you stare directly at them. You can't move your eyes in a direction and take note of something - it's just impossible and it ultimately becomes frustrating to use.

I'm not actually sure if VR has become a BetaMax of the current PC/console generation. Maybe a jaw-droppingly impressive piece of tech is just around the corner - but it appears a number of current options are just poor. Very poor.

The biggest thing to me at the minute is that it's a proper nause to set up. Every time I have a half hour to play, I just want to put the headset on and get cracking. But the headset/controller batteries are always flat, there's an update that needs installing, Virtual Desktop has decided to update, you have to change all the settings to VR, and so on.

Once you're there, you're in a plane and you're flying in VR, it's incredible. Although that's with the pancake lenses on the Quest 3 ;)

Yeah - pancake lenses sound way superior to the Fresnel lighthouse lens crap. Those are such a dramatic failing to me, that I'm amazed it ever got of the drawing board and into production.
