My favourite is zymol carbon, it ticks all boxes. Feels special, looks great has brilliant water behaviour and is priced well.

Swissvax shield is the best ive used so far. Its immense

Bouncers vanilla ice is on order. I hear good things about this product

All tho they say it is not very durable I really love auto finesse illusion , I find it lasts longer then every one makes out , beading is great and looks very very good , it's also very easy to use

For a cheaper wax I really like poor boys nattys white paste wax really really good bang for ur £ and lasts ages

Autofinesse illusion for everything except durability.

Autofinesse desire for everything including durability.

Can't say I've ever used a bad wax, but dodo juice supernatural hybrid was quite disappointing after the hype

Amen to that, anyone want a barely used pot of this?

I feel your pain on SNH. I only got it because of the hype

Dodo juice purple haze is awesome!

For the price it's fantastic, shame it doesn't feel 'special'. Easy on and off, almost impossible to use too much, lasts forever, durable, water behavior is great and a few built up layers gives a really deep shine. Doesn't beat desire though but then again it doesn't cost anywhere near as much!

Glasur. Followed by Carbon and Illusion.

However, I do not see a reason to use a wax, due to C2V3 now.

I love waxing lol that's the thing about detailing, I enjoy the steps. C2V3 seems like cheating to me as much as I like it.

If price is a factor too then collinite 845, you really can't go wrong at the price.

Vics collectors wax was also pretty good for the money but not a patch on 845 with durability.

It's dull as dishwater and is horrible to apply compared to most. For proper cheap Nattys blue is great as a beginner wax.

I think it's a doddle to apply and buff off tbh. The shine is still pretty good for my standards and it lasts forever. Not tried the Nattys blue. Might get that next then as I'm nearly out of 845.

Cheers JD :)

BOS does what its intended to do, but in terms of 'best/favourite wax' as per thread, its not even a contender

I really want to try illusion :( anyone fancy doing me a sample? So far I like Carbon the most. Havent had it long enough to testdurability though

My favourite all rounder is zymol carbon. I only have 4 waxes at work though and haven't tried any others.

I've got carbon, af illusion and two meguirs but I'm not a fan of the other three.

Kev BOS is pretty durable. As youve said in other threads the oils are gone in the first downpour but the protection is there and it still looks good.

So easy to use too. I got my pot when the VAT was down at 15% so it was about £120.

Just looked at the price now. Holy s**t sticks.

For the money I think dodo juice rain forest rub is a great wax and its so easy to use. I'd say that is my favourite wax for easy use and price but I do also really like the bouncers range. I am get to get any swissvax but I do really want some sheild and best of show.

Bos can be durable but the oils last once downpour, it's a show wax and imo not a wax i'd use without a decent base of shield or something like Z2. Shield is by far the pick of the SV bunch for me. Looks great and last well, reasonably priced (within the SV range).

Purple Haze and even the sort of sold school Dodo waxes are superb imo. Refreshingly honest and a friendly company. Rainforest rub has a special little feel to it these days, one of the originals.

Personally if I bought another Imperial Blue car or similar ilk, i'd buy a nice old style pot of PH and layer it. Not as my only wax but maybe for summer. Reminds me of waxing my first Frp, blew my mind.

Favourite wax, too hard for me? I love the old school and at times fussy nature of Glasur. It feels cool to use and Zymol are themselves pretty old school. Carbon like most have said is up there with the pick of the range due to price and performance, i'd certainly buy a full pot. I just wish after all these years they would sort out the lid issue, ruins a stunning pot.

Lusso Oro I think it's still one of the nicest waxes i've used (summer/show wax) Went on like oil and came off a dream, actually nicer to use than BOS.

Wax really can be a pleasure to use. If I could only have one for any car i'd pick Shield. Stunning all rounder.

I understand what you are saying about BOS but it's also down to how you apply it.

I fully decontaminate the car and polish it with a flex rotary, it is then applied and left overnight before being removed.

I then leave it in the sun all day and quick finish to re cleanse the wax and applying again and then doing the process a third time.

BOS like any of the better waxes is all about the prep but with all the easier waxes they are easier to work with so less effort but I appreciate not everyone has the space to store cars to get the best out of the product.

BTW, I've just been given this to try out.

I actually don't know where to start with that. I genuinely said "How... what..." out loud.

Beer time.

Yes I do, by reading it properly, James. Sorry, thought it said you left it out in the Sun while the wax cured!!

No matter how long you leave oils to bake in they sun they still get washed away.

Indeed they do, no wax is perfect. 3 coats of BOS is good for 6 months in my experience, I do it pre an post winter for obvious reasons.

Clearly also using incorrect chemicals and strengths also impacts on the longevity of a wax.
