The whats your favourite wax thread

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Indeed they do, no wax is perfect. 3 coats of BOS is good for 6 months in my experience, I do it pre an post winter for obvious reasons.

Clearly also using incorrect chemicals and strengths also impacts on the longevity of a wax.

durability when only talking time is part of the storey. how many miles will you cover in 6months? And where is the car kept, outside, garage

Even colli 476s will struggle to achieve 6 months in some scenarios

I've got to side with Dave here, 6 months of weekend use and always garaged then yes. Usually day to day driving on British roads with British weather I think not.

No doubt even Swissvax would agree that BOS isn't sold as a durable wax

Yes the cars are garaged when not in use. I've used BOS for around 4 years now without any durability issues.

My car does ave 500miles/week, parked outside close to a row of oak trees, driven in and around building sites everyday. Even the hardy AG HDwax struggles to keep its durability claims of 6months. But I'm aware my cars are probably given a harder life than most so expect it to fail sooner, whereas last someone like yourself far in excess if it's claims.

Claims of durability can't be taken as typical when you're doing very little mileage and well kept and garaged. Based on your first post it's like saying turtlewax finest last 6months, on a car that does 500mikes a month and garaged when not in use.

Depends, imo normal people put there car in a garage.

Also depends in if you can be bothered to read the OP

I mentioned 'normal' usage, but by you stating "normal people" store their cars in a garage you are likely offending the majority of people on here who don't.

The first point is Best Durability, BOS does not fall into this catagory regardless what you say lad.

I think SV would laugh at Bos being durable.

He should definitely contact Polished Bliss also.

This reminds me of the "nothing comes close to AG" product guy. Presume the same (little bit older and stuck in the 90s) but perhaps with more money...

BOS failed on dad's car (kept in heated garage) far sooner than C2V3. But I guess that's an unfair comparison.

Best durability - without doubt Collinite 476. It lasts for months.

I've never used a super high end wax but in the mid range budget I've been using Swisswax Onyx for a while and think it's great - easy to apply/remove, good clarity, great shine and reasonable price. Lots of people I know used to say it was almost on par with BoS but a lot cheaper.

I often use 476 as a base wax then use a soft wax over the top, seems to work well and gives you the best of both worlds then - very good durability and fantastic shine.

Yeah for sure, its being wrongly promoted!!!

Wholly s**t batman they agree with me.

Quote from polished bliss " a lifespan of over three months per application on a daily driver is achievable in the UK, and this can be extended further if it is layered from the outset. "

Isn't that odd ;)

Doh

Yes, half the lifespan is the same as your statement.

I've been in the detailing game 20 years. I'm 27 and have been detailing for 10 years. Same thing, roight?

Perhaps you didn't read the thread, or the statement from PB which is the god of all knowledge apparently or perhaps you want to change your game lol

Any old wax can last 3 months if looked after properly, it's the finish that isn't durable at all. The glossy finish from bos is all the oils which instantly get washed away.

My issue isn't with your reply to "what is your favourite wax" - everyone's entitled to their opinions.

Christ. Do you have cotton wool in your ears, or are you too much of a baby to accept the truth?

I would give up, he ain't listening. Swissvax blinkers I think

Still got that sample pot of desire. Sucks that for the next decade or so Ill never actually get to use it and test the results in a normal environment.

And lol at the faggotry in this thread. BOS does last 6 months. Its just dem oilz innit.

Carbon will maintain that just waxed look, that just waxed beading for the first 3-4 washes and continue to sheet well over the 6 month mark. For £60 its a steal. Ive got half a pot sitting in a fridge 250 miles away thatll never get used now too :dapprove:

Yep perhaps the thread should have been titled, what's the best way to seal road grime by not knowing how to detail a car.

Would have been right up your street kid, sounds like your the bug and tar gun type who then wonders why his car doesn't sheet properly.

LoL

Deary me, It certainly seems rather apparent that you can't educate pork!!!

Shall we start a new thread titled 'what's the best show wax' then that way the Swissvax blinkered amongst us won't be so wrong with their vote, and hopefully won't get so upset. We don't like tears on CS

"Dear Lord, please let my BOS last longer than 3 months, Amen."

Mean while, in the real world.
