Nice one mate you should be able to do the March meet now then

Fingers crossed although the gearbox has got to go to a specialist, so it's out of Matt's control there.

Can you share the cost of the work with us?

May I ask why? Matt's doing me some other bits which you'll all find out once it's done ;) not to mention the gearbox could only need a small repair, or complete overhaul so I don't even know what it's going to cost yet.

Sounds great Lewis, the car looks like its doing really well! You must be over the moon with it! Shame about the gearbox :( Is Matt sending it off to CTS? They did my box and did a very good job! Hope your well :)
thanks mate, I am indeed, love this little car :) yes he is, Matt did say to me that they are good and usually really quick turn around. I'm all good thanks yourself?

Yeah I'm good thanks mate :) I am looking forward to seeing it at some point soon! Yes they turned mine round quickly and as you mention above they just charge for what it needs so mine came out pretty cheap as they didn't need to change much!

Fingers crossed its only something small, Matt seems to think its the selector for first that's gone, it does annoy me as I was really happy when I got the car as the gearbox felt so strong and like it was on low miles which is rare in these lol.

Yeah I'm sure it'll be fine, Not tempted to get a diff in while its out? ;) Was it the same box that was in it when it was supercharged? I remember seeing it at Pauls years ago!

Na spending money I shouldn't be already lol, na DannyR killed that lol! All that remains from when it was Paul's is chasis & cage, DannyR broke it for parts once he blew the gearbox up, Richardo bought the shell and re shelled his ph1 into it :)

bad news on the gearbox, fear not though, Al`s had more than enough practice doing Matts gearbox he can do them with his eyes closed now.. lol

so its there now?? i`m going over there tomorrow to drop some bits off i`ve made for Matt and to see how mine is progressing.. will be nice to see it in the metal..

Haha sounds experienced then lol, got a few little bits to do tomorrow and sunday, then it will be after Matt's given it his magic touch ;) Thanks mate, what's he doing to yours?

Once that's all done it will be, there will always be little bits to do here and there, but i'll be at a stage where it's ready to be used and abused :D

mines having new engine loom/car loom/EC1+Racetech dash wired, and fingers crossed... started!!...

theres some other trick stuff too, pit lane speed limiter, closed loop lambda, launch control...

bringing my car to life basically hahaha

Took the car out this morning as i had a few bits i needed to do and after about 30 minutes of driving, first gear started working again! Don't know why, but it's worked since. Still going to have Matt look at it, but this could be a good sign? :)

Mine did that in that car lol. Lost third and fifth, then they all came back then fifth went. That shell doesn't like boxes.

Oh and I used wax on my car today :) x

Will get Matt to have a look at look it then, might be the gear linkage.

Didn't think you waxed track cars ;)

Only the bonnet, makes it more streamline ;) Just clayed and waxed off some of the glue from the wrap

Fair enough, for a minute then i thought you were giving your car some TLC lol

Saw this the other day sat in the drive, looks awesome glad the ph2 lights are on there!
Oh right i take it you work around Spixworth way? Must of been during the day because if the Girlfriend was home her car would of blocked the view lol. Me too, i hate ph1 lights, not much a fan of the rear bumper either, but don't know what shade of white it is to get re-sprayed :(

So sun was shining this morning so thought i'd tackle some of my small jobs left to do on the car!

First up, change the bonnet aerocatch's for locking ones, just a case of unbolt olds, fit new ones!

Before:

During:

After:

And then it started to rain, but i really wanted to get my aerocatch's fitted to my front bumper, so i pressed on!

First i fitted my pin, got that where it needed to go then i knew i could put my aerocatch on to suit the position of that.
Bumperpinsfitted.jpg

I then drilled a hole through the bumper so i could see the pin, and could position the aerocatch around it, marked up, cut it out and ready for the aerocatch! Not very neat i know, but was p*ssing down, just wanted it done!

Then fitted my aerocatch:

After a bit of adjustment (hitting pin with hammer mainly) it lined up 10x better than before! Bomber really is onto something with this idea! so i repeated and done the other side. Once done i quickly released my bonnet ;) Took it off and fitted a Skoda splitter.

Once that was done, i popped the front bumper on (oh its easy now :p) and got some pictures.

It's hard to see the splitter in them pictures, but the pictures were taken on my iphone as i was getting wet so was in a hurry  Passenger side still needs a bit of adjustment, pin needs to come out a bit too, but that can wait it's close enough for now :)

Thank you Bomber for a good idea :)

Yeah, Friday around lunchtime! Work all over Norwich mate, often your neck of the woods.
Agree on the rear bumper, but I wouldn't worry about it too much as it does look good.

Ive seen a bird in a white 182 a few times coming from Yarmouth, seen it? I've always said 1*2s look dated in white but tbh they suit it well, look better in the metal/plastic!

I think white suits these car's as much as LY or any of the other sought after colours. No i haven't but seen a couple of ph2 1*2's on here and they do look nice.

That holds the bumper so well! Come fit some for me :)
It does indeed, very impressed. I'm free next sunday if you want to pop over and i'll help you? I know how to do it and have everything needed, just wouldn't want to cut someone else's bumper as if i f*cked up i'd feel so guilty

i will be stealing tht one me thinks love the idea looks realy neat mate
Go for it, i think it's a brilliant idea, although all credit goes to Bomber and tbh i'm surprised there isn't anyone else who has done it.

Looks great mate, can't believe no one had done it before and so glad I did. Bumper was off for rolling roads/recovery/trailering so much it just made sense. And as you now know, even more solid than the original fixings. Still love this shot of mine with it all off...

good work mate, wondering if i need to approach this now......hmmm

Completely missed your reply lol! Thanks mate, might be beneficial for you for more than the fact its quick release, it does hold the bumper alot better than the standard fixings, ph1's aren't to good for that :( Mine broke on my passenger side wing, which is why i have done this.

Thanks mate, i know, i'm more surprised no one has done it since you done it! I done it mainly because one of my fixings in the wing had snapped off, but glad i done it now.

Your car looks bad ass in that picture! Saw some really good pictures of it in your project thread whilst trying to find the Aerocatch pictures. Shame it's not still about, looked a beautiful machine, can't wait to see DannyR's once it's done :)
