These pesky exhaust mounts...

  RB 182
Bit of background first:

Had a rear end bump last year (not my fault ) had the whole rear end replaced, new back box, and boot floor. At the end, the exhaust was a tiny bit at an angle but nothing to worry about.

A few months roll buy and the right side starts to sag more than the left... it has done this ever since. I thought it was the exhaust mounts so did a quick bodge job. Work ok for a few weeks then went back to the right hand sag... Decided to buy new mounts which were fitted this afternoon.... guess what... still the same!!!!

Any idea if these can be adjusted? I've got a feeling that the boot floor was welded/bonded poorly, or the right hand side where the bracket fixes to, was shoddily done?!

Everything went through the insurance company and a local garage they chose. This was over a year ago and I have since swithced insurance company... Do I have a leg to stand on in regards to taking the car back to fix? I'm sooooo peeved off!!

After new mounts fitted:

Don't cable tie it, if they're new mounts there is no need. Was the exhaust replaced after the bump?
Is it possible that the exhaust was damaged/bent in some way?

Was all replaced, hence why i'm a bit worried that the boot floor wasnt welded or bonded as it should have been... Is there any adjustment on the exhaust? There was no damage to the chassis as the crash was at low speed, but its making me think that maybe things aren't as they should be?

could it be that the rear silencer has twisted slightly in its clamp to the centre section?

this could well be the problem, undo the centre section to cat clamp and lift them up and twist untill the exhaust is straight and retighten the clamp

my exhaust hung low, not as low as yours and the cat was at an angle point down, making sure the cat is level made the rest of the exhaust sit properly.

How tricky would this be on my own? Do you need to get the car onto a ramp? The only tools I've got are two axel stands and a socket set...

I called the garage that fitted them and they will charge me again, tight gits!!

The cat is at an angle so I guess this could be the answer :)
