Thingy on the engine - fao renault techs!

Just above and to the right of the oil filter, there is a thingy that connects to the engine with a couple of wires coming out of it. Mine has kinda snapped off from its metal holder/securing device and it just dangling there by what I guess is the wire inside of it.

Anyone know what it is, what it does, and if I should have it replaced?!

glad I didnt pull on it too hard then or it might have come off completely!

either your oil pressure switch or maybe the knock sensor.get it checked out.
