I have an Iphone 4 locked to o2, I jailbroke it last night, cydia etc works fine. I want to unlock it so I can use a vodafone sim as my missus broke her phone :S Ive messed about with SAMPrefs but cannot for the life of me get it to work.

I'm a relative noob to all this so please be gently

If anyone could help me in lamens terms it would be very much appreciated

Jailbreaking isn't unlocking, two totally different things. I'd need to check, but I don't think you can unlock you iPhone 4, however if you ring O2 they will do it for you free of charge...actually there's a form online to do it so just google it.

Thanks symon, I'm aware of the difference re jailbreaking and unlocking. 02 want £ 15 and it takes 10 days

When I was with O2 for my contract, I filled this form in https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset Unlocking Form and about two days later my phone was unlocked FoC.

I was on contract but moved to vodafone taking my number with me, was unsure whether I could still use the form. Its only because my Mrs has broken her s3 and I said if I can unlock it she can have my old iphone until hers is sorted.
