How do you rate the DCi reliability wise. Which engine variant would you pick 65/80? (was there a 100???) Also what is the tuning capabilities of the engine? I not going to extensively probably just a chip/tuning box and filter change.
The dci if it has trouble is expensive injectors an't cheap etc but there very relaible realy.
Forget tunning IMO as the costs to fix them if they go wrong arn't worht it buy the quicker model instead of tunning.
No point in filter tunning box/remap only.
apparently the dci100's are awesome cars, but pretty rare, if you find one for sale i wouldnt wait long, they go pretty quick!
Terriable gerbox though. Horrid to use IMO
65 dosnt have an intercooler, 80 and 100 do.
100 has a different turbo, think the 65 and 80 have the same turbo.
think you need bigger injectors to go past 120bhp i heard?
doesnt the 100 have the 6 speed megane box or am i talking pish?
Your thinking of the new 106HP model in the new clio thats got the new 197 6 speed type box. The 100 uses a petrol derivative oneused in the bigger Renaults.
65 and 80 share a similar turbo different pressure reliease settings though.
100 has the bigest intercooler for the Mk2 cars and the ones the tunenrs would often use.
Injectors are a grey area I'd always up the injectors get them custom flower and use a differen pump as you'll get the best power that ay but the cost means no ones does it.
Pumps on the 65 and 80 are the same max flow is about 140~150hp depends how you run the pump as nooone uses bigger injectors just up the line pressure and window size which isn't ideal for both power, smoke and logevity.
A owner in Piortugul took the stock 80 injectors and pump to 144hp or so but that all the pump could do and that running silly pressure. Pumps are known to go anyway so running more pressure a risk.
