I love clio's im afraid paul,although i was tempted to get a lotus exige before i bought the 197 :quiet:

i doubt i will use it on the road,just need 2fill my time while bf's at work etc & i wanna learn about engines an all that. I wanna put my individual stamp on it,uno what i mean! :approve:

I know what you mean, that's the way things are. An eight year old car is about 3.5k (ish)
When I got my valver about six years ago, I paid around that for it (I paid closer to 4k for it)

do you keep your 197 in a garage in the winter? looks like a good price, but no doubt things will need to be done to it, so im sure it will cost more than the sale price.
i doubt youll have any problems flogging it if it dont work out

sounds like a plan to me. if its not an everyday use car it doesnt matter if it breaks! I say do it, just be prepared to engine rebuild eventually

Engine rebuild? Why would it need that if its been properly maintained regardless of mileage? :S

Exactly fella - Im well into the 100k's now and the engine is as strong as the day it was built (owned car from new) infact the whole car is not just the engine!

Probably hasnt got a history with it being cheap and a vague add

a service and a cambelt later and its all good! still needs a steering wheel refurb tho, runs really well for age/ milage!
