Can i just add, my area is quiet, you very rarely get people pass by, so it wont constantly be going off. Just the chavs occasionally come out and the students on the road get pissed on thursday night.

Depends on what noise you have associated with the digi-chirp (as they can be known). The Clifford ones screech at you, which makes you jump...if it just beeps, it can encourage drunks to talk to the car (had that with my old 306...a drunk woman saying that the car was talking to her).

The more forceful the noise, the more people will take note.

PS. don't have it too sensitive, or it will chirp all night when the rain is bouncing off the car!

I don't know. The alarm was on my old 306 and was a toad, I transferred it over to the Cup and piggybacked it off the standard alarm.

IIRC I think it was Cobra that were installed to the imported MK2s.

My Clifford has the "eeeeek" noise - not too sensitive and can be adjusted for the inner and the outer prox :)

Oh ok, so does anybody know what alarm it is then?

Have you contacted the dealer you had it from or the person you brought it off they might have wrote it in the handbook.

If you pop down to the dealership they may be able to tell you or somewhere that fits alarms. I'am afarid its called doing your own research.

Should be stated in your documentation for the car mate
Flick through all the wee booklets in your Clio wallet :)

Mine was a Cobra, off the top of my head I can't mind what model though.

I looked in there, i couldnt find it. I've seen it somewhere but i cant remember where. very frustrating

When I'm drunk (or sober), I take more notice of cars that "beep" at me when I walk past, as they attract my attention. Obviously, I'm a good guy and just look at the car, see if it's anything nice (usually not) and go on my way.

The reason I would never want my car to beep at people, as it can attract the wrong type of attention.

my dad has a clifford proximity alarm thing on his m3, everytime you used to go near it would beep, and little things would always set it off

he then had the proximity reduced, so as above it can get very annoying and did draw more attention when it chirped at people

the 2 beeps when you lock and unlock the car is cool though!
