Car  ph2 172 ff
well im 19 and have got a 172 i really like the car but am afraid of it going wrong for some reason or other, i dont know what to do prior to owning this i had a valver which didnt cost anything like and i ran it and ran it if it made a noise i wouldnt worry id keep driving untill it needed work, im in 2 minds as to wether sell my 172 now and buy a car like a hybrid(f7r clio) and buy a run-around for going to work etc or keep the 172..... atm im just ploughing miles in to it soon it will have done 60k and it only 4 yrs old! i just dont know what to do?

part service history, only bit of mot left, no thanks, im just showing a price comparison of 1.2k

i do know jmr's is much better but 1.2k better ? for an extra 7k mileage

the only sure thing is that sooner or later, something WILL go wrong!

if ur like me you grump about it for a while, pay up, then forget about it and ENJOY THE CAR! :D

mate i was exactly the same until about a week ago! fair enough i love it to bits but ive stopped caring about it going wrong, its french, it will go wrong;) drive it and have fun, who cares about the milage:D

Mine has a 2" bore [as standard] cat back free flow stainless exhaust system, ITG panel filter and a RS Tuning re-map.;)

£550 worth of performance mods. Kicks out about 15-20% more torque at low rpm. Mainly down to the re-map.

Had belts replaced 2.5k ago and 4 new tyres. Thats £680 + £300.

Its had no expense spared on it. Price on the Autotrader site is priced with a bit of fat in. I'd let it go for £4995, not much less though. I can get £4500 trade in from a dealer.

yeah fair enough mate, just one thing id like to add, modifications DO NOT add to the price, sorry to say that.

although it depends if the prospective buyer wants those mods.. or your selling to the normal car market.

Nah, I know that. I was happy to shell out on the mods, they've really improved the enjoyment of ownership and from the outside theyre completely un-noticeable which is nice. The car looks totally standard.
