right ppl think am going to take the plunge and buy these , haveing lookesd on yozza and k-tec it cheaper to buy the items sep and save 700, well thats how it look any. or do i buy k-tec raceing own throttle bodies and the omex from them also, have many ppl gone down this route i no there will be a big diff in performance, just a few questions through ?

* how will it idle ( getting cams done at same time )

* is there any other throttle bodies out there part from jenvey or are these the best

* has any body had any damage to engine due to useing these

I think thejesus probably has the most experience with ITBs.

iirc idle will depend on how wild your cams are.
I think there is another design that AWT and GDi use which is meant to be better

Done properly dont think there would be any issues with reliability

Idle will be pretty perfect no matter what the cams are...the ecu doesnt have the same operating "down-falls" with that respect as an OE ecu.

Jenvey are best/proven and are good value for money.

Only damage will be through faulty fitting, or inaddequate mapping...otherwise theres no reason for concern.

Has there actually been any though??

I know a lot of folk have questioned certain areas but has anyone ever blown one up yet, probs with the weak box etc ?

Ive heard you'll need to spend much more on top to get a rolling roaded 270bhp.

not as far as i am aware if thats right, would fall in to false advertisng etc, i have searched also and can not find many horror storys about these

  R35 GTR
just do a search, rebuilds, gear boxes, general running issues etc
My gear box has lasted over 20k miles. The engine however had buggered piston rings, but I guess time will tell now if they are actually reliable or not as the engine was rebuilt in january.

The only other problems I have had apart from the piston rings are leaking coolant hoses, dodgy throttle body, bad idling, leaking shocks and a couple of other common problems that could happen to a standard car.

If you are prepared to take a clio to the next level then this stuff shouldn't be an issue.

bad idiling this down to the ecu on cold start up, coolant hoses did u use samo or sfs hoses ? and many questions in u pm mate cheers

If you want to go the turbo route I'd do a lot of searching on here, I've not heard of one used regularly that's reliable and not having expensive rebuilds. ITB's you can use daily, thrash the crap out the car and it wont give you any problems... well, providing it's done properly anyway. My cars survived almost 50k of ITB's on a TOTALLY standard engine and been absolutely fine. My compression is better than most year old 182's.

If you decide to go the ITB route I'll only recommend GDI, other people will probably come out the woodwork now, but they simply have more experience, better knowledge and better support than anyone else. PM me if you want a non bullshit ridden conversation, as there's too many people on here recommending their 'mates' and too many failed jobs that come of these that you wont get an ouce of truth or realism sadly.

should be no problem if mapped correctly mate, mines on ITB`s n OMEX n CAM`s and as no cold start problems, starts fine everytime and idile`s perfectly. i`ve had them fitted 4 10months and the only problem i have had was the throttle cable snapped!! As u can see on my avatar, gdi did mine and i`d definately agreed with thejesus ;)

K-Tec's ITB conversion looked fantastic! It was a work of art!

I don't doubt that the GDI kit is good, but it looks so messy.

What are the reasons for this? Is the K-Tec kit a Jenvey?

apart from the k-tec 1 being for show u mean?? it had bungs in the truppets and looked like it had never moved (much like mine lol) n the white gdi 1 is a time attack track car-the bloke ain`t bothered about the engine, as long as he can nail it round the track lol:D

what price is the gdi TB conversion? £3500 fitted?

Any pics and vids of yours done?

yeah here's one on it panning my mates Scooby

What exactly was messy? You're referring to the black demo car that taken apart regularly to try different parts (that way YOU dont end up being the guinea pig).

Ask K-tec who did their loom to make it look so nice too ;) I realise your of the "anti GDI no matter what" fanclub, but with all due respect you dont actually know the first thing about ITB's or modding cars full stop. Looking pretty doesn't help you go faster, but if you think a customer car would go out like a 'demo' car (demo being the key word here) then your more foolish than you look. Fastest car at FCS was FMP's 172, 5 seconds a lap FASTER than the touring car fyi
