Throttle body - 1.2 16v

  Clio Extreme 1.2 16v 2003
Iv been having problems with the car going into limp mode recently. When the car did it last i just about got it to a garage, the guy pluged a machine in under the ash tray. It read Mass air ???? something or other, and throttle pedal. Since then i took it to Four ashes renault specialists and they said the fault that they were getting is incoherance of manifold pressure! Neil said that i need a new moterised throttle unit (£340 + vat for them to do it) He did say that he was so confident that it was that and if they fitted it and it didnt solve the problem they would take it of and not charge me for it.

So i basically want to try cleaning the throttle body and check anything else in the process. From what i have read in the Haynes Manual, to do it on the D4F engine (1.2 16v) i need to:

1. Depressurise the fule system.
2. Disconnect the negative lead to the battery.
3. Unbolt the the air cleaner unit and remove the engine top cover
4. disconnet the ECU, engine wireing loom and inlet manifold absolute pressure sensor
5. Remove the interferance suppressor located on the inlet manifold.
6. Remove the inlet manifold by unscrewing the bolts securing the inlet manifold to the cylinder head
7. disconnect the wireing from the moterised throttle valve, air temperature sensor and fule injectors.
8. turn the inlet manifoled over and unscrew the four mounting bolts
9. Remove the the motorised throttle vavle. Recover the O-ring seal
10. Refit the valve together with a new O-ring seal and tighten bolts to specific torque

Which relay do i take out from behind the left-hand headlight in the engine compartment fuse/relay box? all it says in the haynes is remove the fuel pump relay! but which ones that ?????

Ok been looking on the forum today, apparently to depressurise the system its not a relay, its a 30 amp fuse in the engine bay which needs to be removed then trying to start the engine for a few seconds. Thats on a 172 but guessing its the same on a 1.2

Should i replace the inlet manifold gasket as well as the throttle body gasket/o-ring at the same time or would it be ok to just use silicone???

Anyone know the part numbers for the gaskets on a 1.2?

replace gaskets. depressurise: disconnect fuel line from rail and catch the squirting rest of fuel with a cloth.

  anything i get
The throttle limits may need resetting.
You can try disconnect battery negative for good few mins , reconnect , turn ignition on for approx 1 min , turn off for approx 1 min , start up and leave idle for about 10 mins.
It may work but you may have to have it code read and reset using using a renault clip diag tool .( dealer or someone local with the tool )
