Throttle body removed, cleaned, re-fitted, now it's hunting and hesitant.

not sure if the hunting and hesitation are related, but they seemed to both happen after cleaning the tb.

when coming off the throttle into neutral, it hunts between 1000 and 1500, then settles after a few seconds to 1000. before i removed the tb it didnt hunt and sat at 850-900.

the hesitation is at high revs every now and then, but only the first time on each journey. if i gun it in second it sometimes hesitates a couple of times at high revs, but then if i try it again its fine. i do have the emissions light on, but thats been on for weeks.

thanks, kris

It should settle between 850-900 rpm again when the ECU adapts to the new conditions. However the TB learning process only takes place when coolant temperature > 70 C.
Off course there shouldn't be any damage to the TB, or vacuum leaks.

hopefully no leaks, i torqued the four TB bolts up to 13nm in a 1-3-2-4 pattern just to make sure

that's more than likely what the problem is. when i get home i'll dance around it seven times in my mankini then try and start it by turning the key with my teeth and rev it with my bum bum.
