throttle housing diameter

Hello perhaps somebody can help me:

Who knows the difference of the diameters of these two throttle-housings.

One is for the 1,6l 16V engine the other one for the 2,0l 16V engine.

The one for the 2,0l 16V engine should be bigger…..but I want to know how much it is.

Dunno m8 - best thing i can suggest is go to a garage, take a 2.0 16v car for a test-drive from and measure it as best you can!

thanks for your advice, but it is hard to find these special F4R, because it is the old one with mechanical connection between pedal and throttle and not electric one.

I was thinking that maybe someone here in the forum is working in a garage an has this as spare part in stock and could measure...

Next month Ill try to fit the throttle of the Megane 2,0 16v into my clio 1,4 16v

I think that our throttle is 60mm and the Megane 2,0 16v is 70mm

but I dont put my hand on fire.

Do u think that will work???Will we see a small rise in power and if so at the whole ranfe of rpm or at high rpms???

Also the ecu must be reprogrammed after that.Am I correct????

I hope that the F4R throttle has a bigger dia, but will fit without mods.

So maybe some more power at high rpm, reprogramming is certainly necessary, otherwise angle and area will not fit together anymore.

Yes but what about low rpms?Will they be affected?Cause I wouldnt like my car to wake up from 4000 to 6700rpm.

I will not think that this will affect low rpm....for this there is only solution: more displacement...

for the MK1 172 its 72mm OD and the MK2 is difficult to explain as it has the same OD but a tapered body which ends up as 68mm IIRC, but it was a long time ago i checked.

Hey man, I´m waiting also on your result (Megane throttle...) then we can compare...

I can´t tell you the diameter, I simply ordered now (It´s of the Laguna 2,0l 16V F4R engine with about 140hp) and then I will see what I get. The price here in Germany is €162,- incl. VAT.
